Travel Grants

Each year, the Swiss Zoological Society (SZS) awards several travel grants of up to CHF 1000.- to students to support fieldwork or attendance at international conferences. These grants primarily cover travel expenses, and if additional funds are available, may also contribute toward registration fees (however, funding does not extend to meals). Applicants are encouraged to seek supplementary funding from other sources to cover remaining costs, if necessary.
Who can apply?
PhD students in any field relevant to zoology at a Swiss academic institution. Applicants must hold an active SZS membership at the time of application.
Additional eligibility criteria
Previous presentation (poster or talk) at a biology conference.
Each student may receive only one grant during their PhD studies.
